Sun Pictures lists Jailer 2 (ஜெயிலர் 2) for 15 October 2026. This is a producer-announced theatrical date. It remains a future date as of 7 October, so readers should check local cinema listings before booking. Sun Pictures.
What is confirmed?
The production company's page names Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar and music director Anirudh Ravichander. It also lists S. J. Suryah, Vidya Balan and Suraj Venjaramoodu. These are credited names, not a licence to invent their character arcs or screen time. Official film page.
The official date-announcement video supplies further department credits. Vijay Kartik Kannan handles cinematography and R. Nirmal handles editing. Those details help distinguish this sequel from the earlier film and from fan-made announcements. Official video credits.
Is there an official trailer link?
The Sun TV release-date teaser on YouTube is an official promotional video. Its label matters: a date teaser is not necessarily the full theatrical trailer. We link to the video on YouTube rather than loading a player or tracking scripts here.
When checking a video result, read the channel name and publication date. A title containing “official” is not sufficient evidence on its own. Short clips can also reuse footage from the first film. The link above points to the production's release announcement, not a prediction video.
What about the OTT release?
No streaming premiere was verified in the sources used for this article. An October cinema date cannot establish a November or December OTT date. We will add a platform and day when a traceable announcement supports them. Until then, the useful answer is not verified.
Do not treat a sequel announcement as a review. This page reports credits and release information. It makes no claim about the quality of a film that the compiler has not watched, and it gives no invented star rating.
For a wider view of October, use the Tamil cinema release calendar. That guide separates announced dates from windows and unresolved listings, so a rumoured day does not look as certain as a producer's announcement.
